Since the fall of the Taliban in Afghanistan, a new epidemic has bestowed. Afghan women have begun to burn themselves in protest to their condition.  While the burn units of the hospitals in major cities like Kabul and Herat are filled with burn victims, few admit to having burnt themselves, but officials estimate that up to 300 or more women attempt to burn themselves each year.

Hidden Generation has screened at the National Museum of Australia in 2006 and Noor International Film Festival in Los Angeles in 2008.
